Super Bowl XL of National Football Championship League was played on February 5, 2006. Michigan was the location were Super Bowl XL was played and the stadium that hosted the game was Ford Field, Detroit. The game was played between the teams Seattle Seahawks and Pittsburgh Steelers. Steelers defeated Seahawks by the score of 21-10. The cost of the 30 seconds commercial was $2.5 million. It was the first super Bowl that the game itself aired in the High Definition.

National Anthem was played by Aaron Neville, Aretha Franklin and Dr. John and ASL performed by Angela LaGuardia. ABC Network telecasted the game in the United States. Radio coverage was done by Westwood One/CBS Radio in the United States. American Telecommunications company Sprint sponsored halftime show and performed by The Rolling Stones. Three Songs were performed and they are "Start Me Up", "Rough Justice", and "I Can't Get No Satisfaction".
